Red Inshell Pistachios-TEMP OUT OF STOCK
The pistachio was dyed red many years ago. When the nut fell from the bushes in dry arid mountainous areas of iran and Turkey, the pistachio shell got stained. In order to cover the blemish, a New York importer started red dyeing the pistachio in the early 1950's. By the 1980's Californai had a large crop, but the tradition of dyeing the pistachio red continues to this day. There is no difference between the natural and the red colored pistachio - except looks....

Use properly sealed plastic bags or glass jars. Store at 70 degrees or lower. You can store at 32 to 35 degrees in refrigerator for up to 18 months, if sealed well.

Our Very Favorite Recipes

Curry Almond Spread

a wonderful dip recipe

16 oz. cream cheese
2 tsp. curry
1 cup chutney
1/2 tsp. mustard
3/4 cups sliced almonds
1 or 2 green onions

Combine the cream cheese, 1/2 cup chutney, curry and mustard.

Place in a bowl lined with plastic and refridgerate.   When ready to serve, turn onto a platter, top with the remaining chutney, slivered almonds, and sliced green onions.   Serve with crackers.
