Brittle



Heating the sugar and corn syrup mixture up to 290 degrees, adding nuts, and then finally butter is the proper way to make a brittle. You add baking powder to give the mixture a million air bubbles. That prevents the hard sugar toffee from breaking teeth. It gives the mixture a certain softness that ends up in a crunch in your mouth. .
